Steele is a small town in the northeastern tip of St. Clair County, Alabama, on the edge of Etowah County, approximately 13 miles from Gadsden and 40 miles from Birmingham.

About Us


Municipal Services are an important part of daily community life. The Town of Steele services include local government, police and fire departments, emergency service squads, and water and sewer service. In addition to the above-mentioned municipal services, the Town of Steele also provides library services at the Town library and a community center.

The Mission of the Steele Police Department is to provide police service to the citizens, businesses, and visitors in the Steele police jurisdiction. It is the responsibility of the police to enforce all Federal, State and Local laws & to protect life, prevent crime, monitor traffic, and enforce traffic laws and to help the public in any way that maybe needed. The Community Center is a  multipurpose meeting room at 91 Hillview Street Steele, AL 35987,  suitable for small parties, seminars, and business meetings.
