SPECIAL MEETING – June 30, 2017
The Town Council of the Town of Steele, Alabama, met in Special Meeting Session at
5:30 pm on Friday, June 30, 2017 at Town Hall. Upon roll call the following members were present:
Present: Roger G. Adams, Mayor
Brent Dunn, Councilmember
Philip Gleason Jr., Councilmember
Rick Barnes, Councilmember
Nancy Miller-Borg, Councilmember
Absent: Richard Reynolds, Councilmember
The topic of the Special Meeting Session is:
- To discuss approving Monday, July 3, 2017 as an additional holiday for all employees.
- Moving the Town Council Meeting from Monday, July 3, 2017 to Thursday, July 6, 2017.
Mayor Adams would like to observe the holiday declared by Governor Kay Ivey for Monday, July 3, 2017.
This would include the library, senior center, and Town Hall employees. The public works guys would run garbage pick-up as normal and take their day off another day.
Motion was made by Councilmember Barnes approving a 2017 one time flex holiday that can be taken on Monday July 3, 2017 or any other day of the employee’s choice, that’s still subject to the Mayor’s approval, 2nd Councilmember Miller-Borg & approved by the Town Council.
Ayes: Barnes, Miller-Borg, Dunn, and Gleason Jr..
Nays: None.
Motion was made by Councilmember Gleason Jr. to move the regular Council Meeting from Monday July 3, 2017 to Thursday, July 6, 2017, 2nd Councilmember Dunn & approved by the Town Council.
Ayes: Gleason Jr., Dunn, Barnes and Miller-Borg.
Nays: None.
With there being no further business to come before this Special Meeting Session of the Town Council of June 30, 2017, Councilmember Barnes made a motion to adjourn the meeting, 2nd by Councilmember Dunn, adjourned at 5:37 pm..
