COUNCIL MINUTES – March 20, 2020

The Town Council of the Town of Steele, Alabama, met in a special called meeting on March 20, 2020 at 6:45 PM. This meeting was conducted via telephone conference in accordance with Governor Kay Ivey’s Proclamation on March 18, 2020. The following members were present for the call:

Present: Roger Adams, Mayor
Richard Reynolds, Councilmember Michael Stevens, Councilmember Philip Gleason Jr., Councilmember Rick Barnes, Councilmember Nancy Miller-Borg, Councilmember

Absent: None

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Adams at 6:45 PM.

Mayor Adams sent a copy of Resolution No. 2020-02 declaring Town of Steele State of Emergency to councilmembers prior to the meeting. Motion was made by Councilmember Miller-Borg to accept Resolution No. 2020-02, seconded by Councilmember Barnes and approved by the Town Council.

Ayes: Reynolds, Stevens, Gleason, Jr., Barnes and Miller-Borg Nays: None

Town Clerk Jessica Martin sent a letter dated March 17, 2020 that she was resigning her position as Town Clerk effective immediately. Councilmember Barnes made a motion to accept the resignation seconded by Councilmember Stevens and approved by the Town Council.

Ayes: Reynolds, Stevens, Gleason, Jr., Barnes and Miller-Borg Nays: None

Discussion was held concerning the appointment of a Town Clerk. Donna Ambrosius has been working in the position during the maternity leave of Mrs. Martin. She has been doing a very good job and is interested in filling the vacant position. Councilmember Miller-Borg made a motion to offer the position of Town Clerk to Donna Ambrosius, effective March 20, 2020, seconded by Councilmember Barnes and approved by the Town Council.

With there being no further business to come before this called Council Meeting of March 20, 2020, Councilmember Barnes made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Seconded by Councilmember Gleason, Jr., adjourned at 7:15 PM.
