Council Minutes – July 20, 2020
The Town Council of the Town of Steele, Alabama, met in Regular Session at 6:30 pm on Monday, July 20, 2020 at Steele Town Community Center. Upon roll call the following members were present.
Present: Roger Adams, Mayor
Richard Reynolds, Councilmember Phillip Gleason Jr., Councilmember Rick Barnes, Councilmember Nancy Miller-Borg, Councilmember Michael Stevens – Councilmember
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Roger Adams who then asked Council Member Gleason Jr. to lead everyone in a word of prayer.
The minutes from the July 6, 2020 meeting was approved by a motion from Councilmember Miller-Borg, seconded by Councilmember Reynolds, and approved by the Council.

Mayor Adams asked the Council to review the June 2020 Financials to approve at the next council meeting.
The Owners of the Sunoco Gas Station were present at the Council Meeting and asked to have Sunday alcohol sales addressed by the council. Mayor Adams read Resolution 2020-009, which provides a referendum for the sale of alcohol on Sundays to be put on the ballot in the upcoming election. He stated that this must be passed 30 days prior to Election Day for it to be on the ballot. A motion was made by Council Member Barnes to allowing immediate consideration of Resolution 2020-009, seconded by Council Member Miller-Borg and approved by the Council.

Resolution 2020-007, Appointment of Election Officers, was read by Mayor Adams with the Election Officers as follows.
Inspector: Jane Bearden Chief Clerk: Elaine Green
Assistant Clerks: Missy Beason, Darrell Deweese Alternate: Denny Wilcox
Councilmember Reynolds made a motion to approve the Election Officers in these positions, seconded by Councilmember Gleason, Jr. and approved by the Council.

Mayor Adams read Resolution 2020-010, Preparation, Certification, Filing & Publication of Lists of Qualified Voters upon Disqualification of Mayor. Motion was made by Councilmember
