COUNCIL MINUTES -December 2, 2019

The Town Council of the Town of Steele, Alabama, met in Regular Session at 6:30 PM on Monday, December 2, 2019 at Steele Town Hall. Upon roll call the following members were present:

Present: Richard Reynolds, Mayor Pro-Tem Brent Dunn, Councilmember
Philip Gleason Jr., Councilmember Rick Barnes, Councilmember
Nancy Miller-Borg, Councilmember

Absent: Roger Adams, Mayor

The meeting was called to order by Mayor Pro-Tem Reynolds, who then led everyone in a
word of prayer.

The Town Council having read the minutes from the Regular Council Meeting held on Monday, November 18, 2019, motion was made by Councilmember Miller-Borg to approve the minutes, seconded Councilmember Barnes and approved by the Town Council.

Ayes: Miller-Borg, Barnes, Dunn, Gleason Jr., and Reynolds.
· Nays: None.

The Town Council having reviewed the October financial reports, motion was made by Councilmember Barnes approving the financial reports, seconded Councilmember Gleason Jr. and approved by the Tow»: Council.

Ayes: Barnes, Gleason Jr., Dunn, Miller-Borg and Reynolds. Nays: None.

Mayor Pro-Tem Reynolds stated that we have received an invoice from McClure, Sewell & Ass«;)ciates, P.C. for the interim billing for the audited financial statements for fiscal year ending 09/30/19 for $5,000.00. Motion was made by Councilmember Miller-Borg to approve this expense of $5,000.00 to McClure, Sewell & Associates, P.C., seconded
Councilmember Barnes and approved by the Town Council.
Ayes: Miller-Borg, Barnes, Dunn, Gleason Jr., and Reynolds. Nays: None.

Mayor Pro-Tem Reynolds stated that Mary Lou O’Barr, a lifelong resident of Steele, has donated a Bible that is over 400 years old to the Town. She included some information on the Bible that we will have placed on a plaque for display along with the Bible at Town Hall.

Mayor Pro-Tem Reynolds made the following announcements: .
• The Town has been approved for the Demolition project grant that the Town applied for in July.
• ALDOT has received the Town’s grant application for the Rebuild Alabama Act

Councilmember Miller-Borg stated that onThlll’Sday, December 12, 2019 the Town is
‘ having a Kid’s Christmas Fest at the Community Center. The event will be from 6:00-8:00
PM and S;lllta Clause will be there from 6:i0-7:30PM. . ·

•. Cindy Anderson, a resident of Steele since 2002, spoke and would like to be considered for
the upcoming Town Council position.

With there being no further business to come before this Regular Council Meeting of. December 2, 2019, Councilmember Barnes made a motion to adjourn the meeting, 2nd Councilmember Miller-Borg, adjourned at 7:46 PM.
