As of the 2010 census, the population of Steele was 1,043. As part of the Birmingham-Hoover metropolitan area, Steele is among the fastest growing areas in the state of Alabama. With easy access to Interstate 59, the Town of Steele can reach Birmingham in 40 miles and Chattanooga, TN in 90 miles.
